In recent years, many graduates from different universities in Bulgaria have applied for a fellowship. A total of 87 fellowships have been awarded to date. Many grantees come from the fields of engineering and natural sciences, agriculture, veterinary medicine, architecture, etc.
We would like to explicitly point out that applications from the fields of law, social sciences and economics are also very welcome.

Alumni organisation

The previously funded Fellows came together in 2009 to form the Bulgarian Alumni Association to ensure continued contact among current and former Fellows and to build a network of environmental experts.
The Alumni Association actively participates in publicizing the Fellowship Program in Bulgaria, helps or supports candidates in the application process, provides important information and tips about the stay abroad, and is represented at the introductory seminar. DBU awards the Fellowship at a festive certificate ceremony in Sofia, where the new Fellows can meet the members and the work of the Alumni Association. With the support of the DBU, the Bulgarian Alumni Association organizes an annual meeting as well as national and international workshops.
