The event will provide an overview of the current state of knowledge on the effects of climate change on cultural heritage and on protection and resilience measures. Special attention will be paid to the (interim) results of the projects funded by the DBU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to identify existing gaps in research and develop concrete perspectives and approaches for tackling future challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focus is on the interdisciplinary exchange between science, practice and politics in order to promote innovative solutions for the long-term protection of cultural assets and to make a valuable contribution to the national and international discussion on necessary adaptation measures in the context of climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The German government’s German Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change 2024, which for the first time sets measurable targets for dealing with the consequences of climate change at UNESCO World Heritage Sites, provides guidance in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is being organized in cooperation with the Rathgen Research Laboratory of the National Museums in Berlin, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
