In meiner Forschung analysiere ich die Rolle des Ged\u00e4chtnisses und der Wahrnehmung bei der Tierbewegung, um zu verstehen, wie Tiere durch die Landschaft navigieren und wie territoriale Verhaltensweisen zustande kommen. Ziel ist es, diese kognitiven Prozesse in r\u00e4umlich explizite, auf Individuen basierende Modelle zu implementieren, um die Vorhersage von Populationsausbreitung und Konnektivit\u00e4t in fragmentierten Landschaften zu verbessern. Meine Studienarten sind der Eurasische Luchs (Lynx lynx) und die Europ\u00e4ische Wildkatze (Felis silvestris), zwei in Mitteleuropa lebende Katzenarten mit territorialem Verhalten, deren Populationen durch Fahrzeugkollisionen, illegale T\u00f6tung und Lebensraumfragmentierung bedroht sind.<\/p>\n
In my research, I analyze the role of memory and perception in animal movement to understand how animals navigate through the landscape and how territorial behaviors emerge. The goal is to implement these cognition processes in spatially-explicit individual-based models to improve the predictions of population expansion and connectivity in fragmented landscapes. My study species are the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) and the European wildcat (Felis silvestris), two felid species with territorial behaviors inhabiting Central Europe, and which populations are threatened by vehicle collisions, illegal mortality and habitat fragmentation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
