Efficiency of bird protection by national legislation in Central European countries<\/p>\n
DEUTSCH:Ich habe die Populationsentwicklungen und den Effekt rechtlicher Ma\u00dfnahmen zum Vogelschutz in einzelnen mitteleurop\u00e4ischen L\u00e4ndern verglichen und gepr\u00fcft, welche Ma\u00dfnahmen mehr und welche weniger effektiv sind. Zuerst habe ich Liste der gesch\u00fctzten Vogelarten in europ\u00e4ischen L\u00e4ndern und Informationen \u00fcber die Bedingungen f\u00fcr deren Schutz nach den nationalen Rechtsvorschriften gesammelt. Gleichzeitig habe ich Populationsentwicklungsdaten aus der Datenbank Birds in Europe und andere Kovariaten der Populationsver\u00e4nderungen (z. B. Habitat- und Klimapr\u00e4ferenzen oder Migrationsstrategie) aus der einschl\u00e4gigen Literatur erhalten. Die Beziehung zwischen Populationsver\u00e4nderungen und dem Schutzstatus in einem Land habe ich mit den linearen Modellen (kontrolliert f\u00fcr den Effekt der Kovariaten) untersucht. Ich f\u00fchre in Hessen auch meine eigene Feldforschung durch, die sich auf den Vergleich der Populationscharakteristiken und Habitatpr\u00e4ferenzen von V\u00f6geln in Ackerland-\u00d6kosystemen richtet (Vergleich der Situation in Tschechien, Deutschland und Polen).<\/p>\n

ENGLISH: In my project, I aim to compare population changes and legal protection measures of birds in individual Central European countries and ascertain which measures are more and which less effective. The results will provide a framework for developing ideal conservation rules for nationally protected bird species. First, I collected lists of protected birds in European countries and information on conditions for their protection in accordance with the national legislation. I have obtained also population dynamics data from the Birds in Europe database and other covariates of population changes (e.g., habitat and climate preferences and migratory strategy) from the relevant literature. The relationship between change in population trend and the protection status in a country I have analysed using the linear models (controlling for the effect of covariates). Furthermore, I am performing my own field research focused on comparing population characteristics and habitat preferences of birds in farmland ecosystems (comparing situation in the Czech Rep., Germany and Poland).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
